Personal Support
Personal support services provide assistance and training to the recipient in activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and preparation of meal; also, include non-medical care, and supervision. These services are designed to encourage community integration and support living, designated to teach the recipient about home-related responsibilities. Personal support is provided in the recipient’s own home, family home or recipient’s place of employment.
Companion:
Companion services consist of non-medical care, supervision, and socialization activities provided to recipients age 21 years or older, provided in direct relation to the achievement of recipient’s goals. This service provides access to community-based activities to result in increased ability to access community resources.
Companion services can be provided in Recipient’s own home, Recipient’s family home, Licensed facility or in the community.
Respite:
This service is generally used due to a brief planned or emergency absence, or when the primary caregiver is available, but temporarily physically unable to care for or supervise the recipient for a brief period. Respite care is a service that provides supportive care and supervision to recipients under the age of 21 years when the primary caregiver is unable to perform the duties of a caregiver. Respite care for recipients age 21 years or older is available as a part of the personal support service. Respite care can be provided in the recipient’s family home, while involved with the activities in the community, or receive services in a licensed group home, foster home, or assisted living facility (ALF)
